The Mermaid

The Mermaid

When I saw this vase, just an ordinary vase, I was immediately struck with the intensity of the blue, almost purple color.  It sat in my studio until I found the right combination for it.  The graceful, double scalloped green vase seemed the perfect pairing.  But the two pieces needed to be separated just a bit, which I did with a crystal coaster.  Then it reminded me of a woman in a mermaid skirt—without a head.  Well, I can’t exactly make a head on one of these pieces, so I did the next best thing.   Put on a big hat. The inverted bowl, a candle holder and then another one seemed to top it off just right.
Indoors or out, this curious glass piece will enhance your home.

This one-of-a-kind totem style candle holder is a conversation piece!  And certainly nothing your neighbors or friends will have--nor probably have ever even seen before!  Two green bowls add a little color to the otherwise crystal clear glass pieces.  It is topped with a ruffled bowl to hold a pillar candle, small plant with long trailing vines, or even a handful of candy.  Measures 25" x 9" in diameter at the base and is very stable.

The plate and upturned saucer near the base of this totem candle call to mind the image of a lotus blossom and leaf.  Each plate has a smokey aurora borealis finish that reflects the teal pillar and other colors of the light.  All the other pieces are clear solid or cut glass. It is topped with a shallow saucer perfect for holding a pillar or votive candle.  19.25" tall x 8.5" diameter at base.  Very stable.  Weighs 6.7 pounds
